Domestic markets close for 60th anniversary of PRC

Shanghai. September 30. INTERFAX-CHINA - Commodity and stock markets in mainland China will suspend trading from Oct. 1 to Oct. 8 due to the National Day public holiday, which marks the 60th anniversary of the People's Republic of China.

According to the State Council's public holiday calendar, mainland China will observe an eight-day holiday from Oct. 1 to Oct. 8.

The Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges, the futures exchanges in Shanghai, Dalian and Zhengzhou, as well as various spot markets, will close on Oct. 1, and resume trading on Oct. 9.

Markets under Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd. (HKEx) will only suspend trading on Oct. 1 and resume operations on Oct. 2.

Interfax China will observe the National Day holiday period, and resume services on Oct. 9, 2009.
