Covanta Energy commited to turning China's trash into power - Allard Nooy, president of Covanta

Amid rising concerns over the environmental impact of waste disposal, U.S.-based Covanta Energy Corp. is forging ahead with plans to expand into China's growing waste-to-energy market, Allard Nooy, president of the company's Asia Pacific operation, said in an interview with Interfax.

Shanghai. March 17. INTERFAX-CHINA - Covanta Energy Corp., the world's largest owner and operator of waste-to-energy facilities, has been operating in the Asia Pacific region for about 15 years, but now considers China to hold the largest growth opportunity for new waste-to-energy projects in the region, Allard Nooy, president of Covanta Energy Asia Pacific Holdings Ltd., told Interfax.
