SNS model will dominate mobile gaming - MOCA president Song Xiaofei

The online game industry generated revenues of $3.97 billion in 2009, driven by strong growth in the massively multi-player online role-playing game (MMORPG) segment. Thanks to popularization of MMORPGs by games like NetEase.com Inc.'s World of Warcraft (WoW), similar MMORPG titles like Shanda's AION-The tower of Eternity, and Giant Interactive's ZT Online, contribute the lion's share of revenue generated by these gaming giants. Song Xiafei, the president of mobile game developer Beijing Mocaworld Technology Co. Ltd. (MOCA) recently sat down with Interfax to discuss his company's outlook in the age of mobile Internet.

Shanghai. May 10. INTERFAX-CHINA - Despite the popularity of MMORPGs among traditional Internet users, mobile MMORPGs have encountered difficulty in retaining users and generating profit. Song Xiaofei, the president of mobile game and value-added gaming products developer MOCA, recently explained the phenomenon to Interfax in a face-to-face interview.
