China's energy efficiency projects in need of large-scale funding - Dr. Andy Kerr, director of SAGES

As China's huge energy consumption rate continues to grow, major investment opportunities for both energy suppliers and energy conservation projects will arise. There is no doubt that the Chinese government and foreign investors alike are keen on developing this critical sector. In an interview with Interfax, Dr. Andy Kerr, director of the Scottish Alliance of Geosciences, Environment & Society (SAGES), shares his views on China's energy conservation policies and its desire to introduce foreign investment into its energy efficiency market.
Shanghai. June 13. INTERFAX-CHINA - In the past five years China has witnessed an explosive growth in its green industries, especially in the renewable energy sector. In 2008, a large proportion of the central government's RMB 4 trillion ($585.65 billion) economic stimulus package was set aside specifically for green industries.
