China Unicom teams up on mobile phone payments

Shanghai. September 7. INTERFAX-CHINA - Telecom carrier China United Netcom Ltd. (China Unicom), the national bankcard association China UnionPay Co. Ltd. and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Ltd. (ICBC), have jointly launched a mobile phone-based payment system, China UnionPay announced on Sept. 6.
