China home to 608.38 mln mobile subscribers as of July

Shanghai. August 28. INTERFAX-CHINA - China added 61.07 million new mobile phone subscribers in the first seven months of 2008, pushing the country's total figure to 608.38 million, while fixed-line subscribers numbered 355.06 million, down 10.58 million from the end of 2007, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on Aug. 26.
